Pay Per
Click adverts, or sponsored ads/inks as there also known, appear
next to and above the natural listings on search engine pages. Unlike
Organic search results which are driven up the positions via Search
Engine Optimization, every time a user clicks on a keyword linked
ad it costs the company money. The higher the cost per click (CPC)
of a keyword the higher up the ads they go and for an especially popular
word, the price can be astronomical.
