Google Chrome OS
Well I suppose from a non-political stance, World War III has just begun but it's not world leaders taking chunks out of each other and sending in the troops, the battle of the Operating Systems has begun.
For far too long Microsoft has had the monopoly on Operating Systems (OS) and even though challenges came in from Linux they still didn't learn from the growing unrest being felt throughout the computing world.
They continued to bring out OS after OS, some with good new features but some terrible failings too. And it was us, the consumer that had to bear the brunt of the bugs.
People turned to Linux but whilst it offered many advantages, it lacked a lot of mainstream software that people became used to needing on a daily basis.
Google Chrome OS
So why would people trust in a new operating system?
Well I guess initially it's a lot to do with trust. Many people already turn to Google in their hour of need whether it's looking for a phone number for a local business, researching a new car online, reviewing overseas property, sharing documents over the Internet, using the various email solutions, in fact the list goes on and one and continues to grow.
Google are renowned for only employing the best of the best so we can assume that the new Chrome OS will be somthing to be admired. Google are very different to many other large development companies as they WANT and thrive on feedback from users. How else can anything grow and adapt?
People like Microsoft for example seemed to have adopted the attitude of 'if it doesn't work properly it must be your fault'.
Google Chrome OS will be designed to get you on the web in seconds and most of the user expereince will all take place on the Internet.
It is like cloud computing on steroids.
